Basehor-Linwood families,

We are excited to start the application process to be considered for enrollment to our Early Learning Center for the 24-25 school year. Any family with children that will be 4 by August 31, 2024, residing within the Basehor-Linwood School District boundaries can apply for preschool for our 2024-2025 school year which will begin on our first day of school, August 13, 2024. We will also be accepting applications for students who will be 3 by August 31, 2024. The three-year-old program will be provided if space and resources are available. 

We encourage any families wishing for their child to attend to complete the application to enroll as soon as possible to help secure their spot for the upcoming school year. Please be sure to read through the application to enroll process below. Students will be placed according to the order that applications are received, returning students, special education needs, at-risk qualifications, and space availability. We will notify families who have scheduled the screening and paid the application fee that their child’s application has been accepted/approved for enrollment or if they will be placed on our waiting list at the end of each month beginning in February.

Basehor-Linwood Early Learning Center Program Facts:

• 1/2 day, 5 days a week (Program follows the district calendar minus 1 Friday a month for early learning screenings)
• Morning Session - 8:15 - 11:00
• Afternoon Session - 12:30 - 3:15
• Evidence-Based and Developmentally Appropriate Instruction
• Highly-Qualified KSDE Licensed Teachers
• Inclusive classrooms
• Sensory Room
• Parents must be able to provide transportation to and from the building

• Updated immunizations, physical, proof of residency, and birth certificate must be on file before the 1st day of school

New Students: All students that wish to enroll for the first time at the ELC for the 24-25 school year will need to have completed the application to enroll and pay the $60 application/materials fee. In addition, all new students need to be scheduled for a developmental screening in order for your application to enroll to be processed. Screenings can be scheduled by calling our office at 913.662.7150. Space is limited within our program and children are placed based on availability. Families will be notified if their child is accepted into the program or placed on a waiting list. Once a child is accepted, parents will be notified on how to complete the official enrollment process via Skyward. This notification will come in spring 2024.

Returning Students: We have all current PK3 students re-enrolling at the ELC for next school year. If your plans have changed, please contact Mrs. Porter and Mrs. Bernal to notify them of the change.

Application Fee:

• Will be credited to student accounts in Skyward for the $60 materials fee.
• Non-refundable

• You can pay this fee by cash, check, or money order.
• The fee is due within 10 days of submitting an application to enroll.

Tuition:

• $250/month (August-May)
• Waived tuition fees for students eligible for the Kansas Preschool-Aged At-Risk Program - final verification form to be completed in August 2024.

Screening Information:

PK3: If enrolling in PK3 and turning 3 prior to June 1, 2024, screenings will be scheduled for April 12th or July 31st.

Late PK3 birthdays: If your child turns 3 after June 1, 2024, screenings will be scheduled for July 31st.

PK4: If enrolling in PK4, screenings will be scheduled for February 23rd, March 7th, April 12th, or July 31st.

*If your child turns 5 on or before August 31, 2024, they are not eligible to enroll in our preschool or employee childcare program.
